Abstract This Ministerial Decree establishes the safety requirements for food additives, processing and trade thereof. It classifies food additives by categories. The following technological means and substances shall be authorized for use for processing of food additives: (a) brightening and filtering materials, flocculants and sorbents; (b) extractive and technological solvents; (c) catalysers; (d) antibacterial agents; and (e) ferments. Only food additives authorized for application on the national territory shall be used in food industry. Food additives circulating on the national territory shall comply with sanitary and hygienic requirements validated by the authorized state institution in the sphere of public health.
