The present Regulation concerns the enforcement of measures based on a plan drawn up at a national level, in order to safeguard the breedings officially declared leucosis free and to achieve the eradication of bovine leucosis from cattle and buffalo breeding within 1997 throughout the national territory. The Regulation provides for the inspection of the breedings and the identification and registration of all the animals, in order to easily identify the breeding from which the infected animal originates. Further provisions concern, inter alia: (a) the performance of tests, quarantine measures and inspection of the breeding officially declared disease-free by sanitary certificate; (b) the issue, suspension and withdrawal of the above-mentioned certificate; (c) the granting of the compensation in case of slaughtering of the infected animals.
