The system of state registration and control of nuclear materials shall serve the following purposes: (a) safe handling of nuclear materials; (b) prevention of loss and unauthorized use of nuclear materials; (c) access to information on the availability and movement of nuclear materials; (d) fulfilment of international obligations pertaining to the control of nuclear materials. The authorized state institution in the sphere of registration and control of nuclear materials shall be the state nuclear energy corporation Rosatom.
