Abstract

This Decree shall apply to typical agroindustrial products, which are defined as those products obtained through traditional processing and conservation methods (art. 1). With a view to protecting and promoting traditional foodstuffs, the Decree provides for the creation, on the one hand, of Regional and Provincial Lists and, on the other hand, of the National List of Traditional Agroindustrial Products. The former shall be kept and regularly updated by the Regions as well as by the Autonomous Provinces of Trento and Bolzano, with regard to their respective typical food products. The lists must provide with information concerning: (a) the name of the product; (b) characteristics of processing and preservation methods and techniques; (c) materials and particular tools used for the preparation and storage of the products; (d) description of the premises intended for the preparation, processing and preservation of the products (art. 2, par. 2). The National List of Traditional Agroindustrial Products is established under the Ministry of Agricultural Policies (art. 3).
