Abstract

A Decree establishing that the name "Mesimvriotikos Topikos Oinos" shall be reserved for dry or semi-dry white table wines produced by the traditional methods in the region of Thessalonica, provided they fulfil the specific requirements prescribed by the present Decree: they are produced by the so-called "RODITIS" and "ZOUMIATICO" grape varieties. Both varieties must not exceed the 25% of the total percentage; they are produced by grapes planted in vineyards situated in adequate areas. Such vineyards should not yield 1.500 kg /1/4 acres; the temperature of the alcoholic fermentation can not exceed the 20 C; the alcohol grade of such wines should not be inferior of 10 % VOL. but it can not exceed the 12 % VOL.
