The Ministry of Environmental Protection is the central executive body coordinating other central executive bodies in the field of environmental protection. The Agency on Land Resources operates in the field of management and protection of land resources. The Ministry of Agriculture exercises supervision and control in the field of management, reproduction and management of forests and water resources, wildlife and protected areas. The Ministry of Energy and Mineral resources operates in the field of management and protection of subsoil. The Ministry of Interior exercises supervision over vehicle exhausts into the atmospheric air, poaching, illegal felling and investigation of ecological crimes. Local self-government performs its duties within its competence as established by the national legislation. The authorized environmental institutions cooperate in the following fields: (a) prevention and exposure of the violation of environmental legislation; (b) rational management of natural resources; (c) EIA; (d) monitoring; (e) mitigation of the consequences of ecological disasters; (f) exchange of environmental information.
