Ministerial Decree No. 252 setting up state biosphere reserves on peat deposits and lakes.

This Ministerial Decree establishes state biosphere reserves for the purpose of creation of cranberry bogs in accordance with the Annex 1. The Government decrees to prohibit land reclamation, peat extraction, effluent waste water discharge and domestic waste disposal on the territory of state biosphere reserves – cranberry bogs. The right of collection of cranberry for personal consumption shall be granted to all citizens in the periods established by forest service. The following activities shall be prohibited on the territory of state biosphere lake reserves: (a) water abstraction; (b) effluent waste water discharge; (c) land reclamation; (d) industrial fisheries; (e) parking and washing of vehicles; (f) tourist camping and fire making; and (g) ploughing within 100 metres from lake shoreline.
