The Committee shall: (a) elaborate and implement state policy on the rational management and protection of subsoil; (b) regulate the exploration, protection and management of subsoil; and (c) supervise subsoil management. It shall be responsible for: (a) validation of the list of mineral deposits; (b) concessions for mineral exploration and water abstraction; (c) monitoring environmental management; (d) state testing of subsoil, including groundwater; (e) geological mapping; and (f) data collection, processing and reporting.
