Abstract This Decree sets out particular requirements for safe air transportation of dangerous goods in accordance with the provisions of the Chicago Convention on International Civil Aviation, the Interim Agreement on International Civil Aviation, the Aviation Act of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Transportation Act of the Republic of Azerbaijan and other relevant legislative acts. The transportation of dangerous goods by air shall only be permitted with a license issued by the State Committee for Industrial Safety and Mining Supervision. Furthermore, this State Committee carries out state control over real and legal persons engaged in air transport sector to ensure safe transportation of dangerous goods by air. In accordance with the legislation of the Republic of Azerbaijan, transportation of radioactive and toxic wastes by air shall not be permitted. The safety requirements specified in this Decree should be consistent with state standards, environmental safety, fire safety, environmental protection and sanitary-epidemiological norms.
