The scope shall be to ensure protection of staff and population against radiation. Radiation safety of staff, population and environment shall be based upon substantiation (the necessity of application of protective arrangements), optimization (keeping as low as possible either individual or collective radiation exposure levels) and rate setting (control over radiation exposure levels and rates).
