Abstract

This Ministerial Decree establishes that “Sanitary and epidemiological requirements food processing enterprises” shall be applicable to: (a) projecting, construction, re-construction, re-equipment and putting in operation; (b) keeping and maintenance of equipment and premises; (c) processing, handling, packaging, transportation, storage and enrichment of foodstuffs; (c) production control; and (d) hygienic training of staff. Each food processing enterprise shall be attributed registration number. Food safety shall be ensured through production control, including laboratory testing. The modalities and periodicity of production control shall be established by the manufacturer of foodstuffs. This Ministerial Decree shall be applicable to infant food, milk and dairy products, meat and meat-base products, fish products, poultry products, fruit and berries, frozen and refrigerated products, fats, salt and bakery, cereals and food additives.
