Abstract This Ministerial Decree establishes the procedure for the formation and state registration of zoological collections. Zoological collections include a collection of stuffed animals, eggs, cryopreserved sex cells, drugs and parts of wild fauna species, including wild fauna species kept in zoos, circuses, zoological nurseries, aquaria, oceanaria, representing scientific, cultural, educational and aesthetic value. Zoological collections are created through the removal of wild fauna species, their collection, acquisition, exchange, donation, receipt by others in ways not prohibited by the legislative acts of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Removal and collection of endangered wild fauna species, creation and replenishment of zoological collections by natural and legal persons of the Republic of Kazakhstan shall be shall be performed in exceptional cases by the decision of the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Removal of wild fauna species, except for those listed in the Red Book of the Republic of Kazakhstan, shall be performed by natural and legal persons based on a permit issued by the local government. Zoological collections shall be subject to mandatory state registration.
