Abstract

This Ministerial Decree establishes quality and safety requirements for raw alimentary materials and foodstuffs and regulates relations originating between manufacturers, vendors and purchasers in the processing, sale, import, storage, transportation and trade of foodstuffs. It requires foodstuffs to comply with sanitary, veterinary and phytosanitary standards and technical requirements. Foodstuffs must comply with the requirements on chemical and biological substances, including microbiological, radioactive and other potentially hazardous substances. Infant food must have nutritional values that correspond to age and development requirements and must be safe for human health. Food additives must have properties complying with the norms established by the public health authority.
