Federal Forestry Agency is under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Natural Resources. The main functions of the Federal Forestry Agency are : 1) ensuring rational, continuous and inexhaustible forest management, reforestation, conservation and protection of forests, wildlife (except for species subject to hunting), forest seed-growing, rational use of forest land, conservation and strengthening environmental, protective, water protection, recreational and other useful natural qualities of forests ; 2) concession of the plots of forest stock; 3) carrying out forest management; 4) rendering state services connected with concession of information on the state of the plots of forest stock, organization of the selection of the plots of forest stock for authorized types of forest exploitation; 5) carrying out state monitoring of forests; keeping state forest register.
