The main tasks of the Committee shall be: (a) state regulation in the sphere of nuclear energy management; (b) registration and supervision over nuclear materials and sources of ionizing radiation; (c) import and export of materials and services in the area of nuclear energy management; and (d) state supervision over radiation safety. The Committee shall carry out the following functions: (a) implementation of state policy in the sphere of safe management of nuclear energy; (b) supervision over the export and import of nuclear and radioactive materials; (c) annual reporting on the state of nuclear safety; (d) registration of nuclear materials; and (e) research.
