Abstract The Government decrees to adopt the new type of special product identification label for spirituous liquors, previously validated by the Federal Tax Service and the Ministry of Agriculture, in accordance with the Ministry of Finance. Product identification label for spirituous liquors of the old type is valid up to the 1st of January 2001. This Decree validates the Regulation on labelling of spirituous liquors. This Regulation regards spirituous liquors containing over 9 percent of alimentary ethyl alcohol, except for spirituous liquors destined for export. Spirituous liquors the type of packaging of which doesn't allow labelling are exempted from labelling with the special product identification labels in accordance with the modalities established by the Government. The owner of the lot of spirituous liquors is liable for the observance of this Regulation and for the authenticity of the product identification label. A customer purchasing spirituous liquors through retail sale is exempted from such liability.
