Abstract

This Ministerial Decree stipulates that federal health resorts shall be considered protected areas with limited subsoil management, restricted land tenure and limited management of other natural resources. An area shall be considered a federal health resort if it meets the following criteria: (a) availability of one or more unique medicinal resources; (b) availability of mineral water, therapeutic muds and other sufficient natural medicinal factors; (c) compliance with ecological, sanitary and epidemiological norms and standards set for protected areas used for health care; and (d) potable water supply.
