Abstract

This Ministerial Decree designates the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources as the central executive body responsible for providing guidance in the area of energy, including nuclear energy and mineral resources. The Ministry shall be responsible for: (a) the elaboration and implementation of state policy; (b) state regulation of exploration, management and protection of subsoil; (c) energy supervision; (d) supervision over the use of nuclear energy; (e) elaboration of strategic planning for fuel and energy; (f) energy saving and use of renewable sources of energy; (g) elaboration and conclusion of subsoil management contracts; and (h) monitoring of extraction, transportation and processing of hydrocarbons.
