Keyword Hazards Classification/declassification Transboundary effects Geographical area Aral Sea, Asia, Caspian Sea, Central Asia, CIS (Commonwealth of Independent States), Europe and Central Asia, Landlocked Developing Nations, North Asia Abstract This Ministerial Decree validates the classification of natural and technological disasters as follows: (a) “territorial” shall mean limited to an object or production site causing the death of five to ten persons; (b) “local” shall mean limited to the territory of two districts of a province and causing the death of ten to 50 persons; (c) “regional” that is limited to the territory of two provinces and causing the death of 50 to 200 persons; and (d) “global” shall mean limited to the territory of three and more provinces of Kazakhstan, with transboundary effects and causing the death of more than 200 persons.
