Abstract The present Regulation determines the main tasks, rights, duties and responsibility of the bodies of state control over protection of subsoil. The main task of the bodies of state control over protection of subsoil is to enforce legislation on subsoil and its observance by state bodies and subsoil managers. Bodies of state control over protection of subsoil shall carry out: 1. analysis of state registration of the losses of minerals in the process of mining and processing thereof; 2. control over observance of the regulations and norms concerning protection and rational management of subsoil in the process of carrying out geological exploration and by-extraction of minerals; 3. management of subsoil in accordance with the environmental standards preventing subsoil from the manifestation of dangerous technological processes during exploration of subsoil and mining; 4. prevention of soil pollution in the process of soil management, especially during subterranean storage of oil, natural gas, burial of hazardous substances and hazardous waste, and also discharge of effluent waste water; 5. ensuring ecological requirements for storage and disposal of industrial and domestic waste for the purpose of the prevention of their stockpile in water collection areas and bodies of groundwater.
