The scope of the Agency shall be to ensure rational subsoil management. The Agency shall carry out the following tasks: (a) complex exploration of subsoil; (b) state regulation of mining and subsoil management; (c) protection of subsoil and environment in the process of exploration and mining; (d) setting up favourable conditions for the development of mining industry; and (e) realization of common technical policy in the sphere of geodetic, topographic and cartographic activity.
