Ministerial Decree No. 1232 validating the Technical Regulation on requirements set for emissions to environment originating from combustion of different fuels in boilers of thermal power plants.

Abstract

This Ministerial Decree shall be applicable to boilers operating with: (a) coal; (b) fuel oil; (c) gas; and (d) mixed fuels. In order to keep emissions in compliance with the limits set by this Technical Regulations all the boilers shall comply with the established emission standards. Radiation safety level in storage facilities for fuel and waste shall be in line with norms and standards set by the authorized body for the protection of public health. Thermal power plants shall be equipped with pollution control and treatment facilities. Technical norms of emissions to the atmospheric air establish maximum allowable limits of emissions of particulate pollutants, sulphur and nitrogen oxides.
