Abstract

With this Decree, the use of the Global Maritime Distress and Safety System (GMDSS) is introduced to vessels flying the Greek flag. Among them, fishing vessels falling under the competency of Council Directive 97/70/EC (fishing vessels of 24 metres in length and over) must comply with such safety standards and be equipped with the specific equipment.
