The main function of the Committee shall be to ensure ecological safety of environment. The Committee shall carry out the following functions: (a) enforcement of environmental legislation; (b) supervision over compliance with ecological requirements related to keeping cadastres and registration of natural resources; (c) compliance with ecological requirements related to atmospheric air protection; (d) compliance with ecological requirements related to application, storage, disposal, recycling and burial of fertilizers, nutrients and pesticides; (e) compliance with ecological requirements related to protection, stock enhancement and management of wild fauna and wild flora; (f) recultivation of disturbed land and land reclamation; (g) waste management and waste disposal; and (h) subsoil management.
