Abstract

The Government decrees to establish a Federal Food Corporation under the Ministry of Agriculture. The main tasks of the Federal Food Corporation shall be the development and state regulation of the food market for the benefit of commodity producers, and satisfaction of public demand for food, and of industry for agricultural raw materials. The Federal Food Corporation shall ensure effective and repayable use of monies attracted for the state regulation of the food market and for other operations involving food. The Federal Food Corporation shall be headed by a director-general with the powers of a first deputy Minister of Agriculture and Food. Wholesale food markets shall be enterprises and shall be set up in any legal-organization forms, as provided for by the Russian legislation, with the object of providing the producers with the necessary conditions for the marketing of agricultural produce, supply of food commodities to enterprises in marketing and public catering, and of raw materials to food and processing enterprises.
