Abstract

This Ministerial Decree establishes veterinary and sanitary requirements shall regulate veterinary and sanitary inspection of imported animals. It shall not be applicable to domestic animals. Veterinary and sanitary inspection shall consist of: (a) examination of veterinary and sanitary accompanying documentation; (b) control of identity of animal through verification of marking; (c) physical control of animals through laboratory testing; (d) control of groups of animals transported in lots; and (d) customs control. Import of animals shall be prohibited in the following cases: (a) origin of animals from territories and areas with the presence of animal diseases; (b) ill animals or suspected to be infected with infectious animal diseases; (c) exporter does not comply with veterinary and sanitary requirements of the Republic of Moldova; and (d) veterinary and sanitary accompanying documentation does not comply with veterinary and sanitary requirements contained in the Annex 2.
