Abstract

This Ministerial Decree has been enacted in order to adopt and implement at national level the coordinated programme laid down in Recommendation 2001/337/EC relating to the official control of foodstuffs. The inspections and controls envisaged in that Recommendation aim at monitoring compliance of foodstuffs with the Community labelling rules concerning the quantitative ingredients declaration and assessing the bacteriological quality of smoked fish products. The Regions and the Autonomous Provinces are empowered by this Decree to give directives to the competent local health authorities as regards the implementation of the coordinated programme. The outcome of inspections and controls shall be transmitted to the Ministry in accordance with the specimens attached.
