Abstract

The Decree aims at promoting, protecting and improving Italian foodstuffs, giving particular regard to typical products included in the list of typical Italian foodstuffs referred to in Ministerial Decree No. 350 of 8 September 1999. For this purpose, the Decree provides for the establishment of the Committee for the Protection and Promotion of Italian Food Products. The Committee shall cooperate with the Regions and the Authonomous Provinces of Trento and Bolzano and promote the knowledge of typical Italian food. Sectorial Sub-committees may be created by Ministerial Decree to undertake particular initiatives on certain food categories and related issues (art. 6).
