Pursuant to article 2 of the Convention, each contracting party shall designate suitable wetlands within its territory for inclusion in a List of Wetlands of International Importance. On this basis, the present Decree designates the “Oasi del Sele-Serre Persano” to be a Wetland of International Importance. The wetland, whose boundaries are shown in the planimetry attached to the Decree, represents a significant habitat, and particularly a rest site, in respect of the bird species listed out in the Preamble.
