Abstract This Resolution issues the Standard Guide for Food Transportation aiming to develop a standardized methodology for the proper transport of food in order to maintain food quality and ensure safe and healthy food for consumers. The Resolution consists of 8 Annexes related to the various topics. Annex 1: General terms and requirements for means to transport food. Most of them are hygienic and related to the maintenance of temperatures (cold or hot depending on the circumstances) and the non-promiscuity of food and other substances potentially harmful to public health. Annex 2: Special conditions for transportation of particular foodstuff, such as dry and canned food, bakery products, frozen and chilled foodstuff, fish, transportation and distribution of fruits and vegetables, transfer and delivery of ready-made food, drinking water tanks, transportation and distribution of meat, and fresh milk from farms. Annex 3: Conditions and requirements for authorization (health license) for food transport. The competent authority shall issue the permit. Annex 4: Conditions and requirements for the accreditation of private establishments that issue permits for food transport. Annex 5: Health conditions and requirements for the use and work with means of transport. Annex 6: Transport maintenance. Annex 7: Conditions related to the utensils used in transportation.
