Abstract This Ministerial Decision creates the Food Safety Commission (CSA) under the Cabinet of the Minister of Economy, Minister of Agriculture and Sea and the Minister of Health, whose main responsibilities are: increasing consumer confidence in food products, creating a platform for open and responsible dialogue between all partners on security and food chain; adopting a sufficiently comprehensive and integrated approach to food safety, allowing all stakeholders in food chain to share the same goals; supporting competent national authorities, particularly through opinions and studies regarding food safety, essential factor for human health and development of trade; suggesting, in specific cases, the necessary measures to ensure that unsafe food is not placed on the market, to ensure the correct functioning of the national market and protect human health; developing a transparent and objective dialogue with the population / consumers and their respective associations in order to prevent loss of confidence during crises related to food safety, by issuing appropriate media dissemination.
