Abstract

This Ministerial Decision, in compliance with provisions of the Council Directive 2007/43 EC, establishes minimum rules for the protection of farmed chickens intended for meat production. The Decision specifies: measures for ensuring the welfare of animals; duties and responsibilities of owners of holdings where chicken are kept; requirements for raising chickens; training courses for breeders; inspection of slaughtered animals, in order to verify compliance with the requirements of this decision; monitoring measures in the slaughterhouses; good management practices and guidelines; offences and penalties.
