Abstract Article 4 of Law 1650/1986 states that "the approval of the environmental terms is granted by joint decision of the Minister of the Environment, Physical Planning and Public Works and of the Minister competent in the relevant case. With a similar decision it is possible to delegate to the competent Prefect the approval of the environmental terms concerning some projects or activities of this category." With the present Decision, the competence of the approval of environmental terms falling under category "A" (art. 3 of Law 1650/1986) is transferred to the General Secretaries of Region, as concerning with the construction and operation of pig-rearing units and poultry rearing installations.
