This Royal Decree enters into force on 15 April 2002.
Abstract

This Ministerial Decision amends the Implementing Regulation of the Law on Marine Fishing and Protection of Living Aquatic Resources by adding the following text to article 15: “(a) The fishing of shrimps is banned during the natural breeding and growing season which starts on 1 April and continues to the last day of August of every year; (b) The possession and handling of shrimps and trade in them through the breeding and growing season is forbidden. Likewise, trade, buying, selling, transport, storage, export and all associated activities are also banned; (c) Establishments, companies and individuals who possess quantities of shrimps are to record these quantities at the end of each fishing season and to pass this information on to the centres of development of agriculture and fisheries in the Governorates and Regions.”
