Abstract

This Ministerial Decision, consisting of 6 articles, establishes a closed-season for shrimp fisheries within the Sofala Bank. In order to ensure the preservation of fish stocks, and in view of the need to establish, at the estuary of the Limpopo River a closed-season for shrimp fishing for the year 2016 under article 14 of Law No. 22/2013 and article 9 of Decree No. 43/2003, establishes the following: 1. a closed-season for artisanal trawl fishing to shore in the following areas: a) Moma Districts Nicoadala/Quelimane: from 1 January to 31 March 2016, included; b) District of Angoche and southern areas of Nicoadala/Quelimane: from 1 to 31 January 2016 included. 2. The fish product processing establishments handling and process are banned to purchase, transport, handle or process new lots of shrimps in the period 1 to 31 January 2016.
