Abstract

This Ministerial Decision, consisting of 7 articles, establishes a closed-season for shrimp fisheries within the Limpopo river estuary. In order to ensure the preservation of fish stocks, and in view of the need to establish, at the estuary of the Limpopo River a closed-season for shrimp fishing for the year 2016 under article 14 of Law No. 22/2013 and article 9 of Decree No. 43/2003, establishes the following: 1. a closed-season for shrimp fisheries established for the period from 1 January to 28 February 2016, on the entire length between the estuary of the River Limpopo and Farol de Quissico. The closed-season applies extensively to the following motor-powered fishing vessels and fishing gear: a) semi-industrial trawling fishing vessels; b) drag artisanal fishing vessels; c) gillnet called "chitlhamutlhamo".
