Abstract

The present Ordinance implements the Mineral Raw Material Act (BGBl. I No. 38/1999). In particular, the Ordinance lays down provisions relating to the control of major-accident hazards involving dangerous substances in mining operations. The Ordinance – consisting of 15 articles – deals with the following aspects: purpose and sphere of application, definition of terms, safety concept, notification of major accidents in mining operations, safety report, description of the mining enterprise and its environmental condition, internal emergency plan, safety management system, public participation, competent authorities.
