The Act also prohibits prospecting or mining within close range of a building and requires the holder of any licence granted under this Act intending to prospect or mine on any lands to notify the owner and occupier of such land before commencing operations thereon. The Act also concerns compensation for any disturbance of surface rights and for any damage done to the surface of the land or to any live or dead stock, crops, trees, buildings or works by mining operations.
