Abstract

These Regulations prescribe that any producer or other person in possession of any mineral, except the minerals specified in the Schedule, is exempted from compliance with the provisions of section 42 and 43 of the Minerals Marketing Corporation of Zimbabwe Act in respect of any sales within Zimbabwe which are not intended for export. A producer or other person exempted in terms of section 4 shall be issued with a certificate of exemption by the General Manager of the Corporation who may also revoke the exemption. The Act prescribes that the Corporation shall act as the sole marketing and selling agent for all minerals and carry out other functions listed in section 20. Sale or export of minerals otherwise than through Corporation is prohibited (sect. 41).
