Abstract The present Regulations were made under the Environment Management and Protection Act (S.S. 1983-84, c. E-10.2) and continue in force under the Environmental Management and Protection Act, 2002. In particular, the Regulations lay down provisions relating to protection of the environment as regards mining activities. The text – consisting of 35 sections – deals with the following issues: construction of pollutant control facility, temporary closure of pollutant control facility, decommissioning and reclamation plan and assurance fund, exploration and applications and approvals.
