Abstract

This Act concerns the protection of migratory birds, i.e. birds and eggs of birds of a species specified in Schedule 3 to this Act and of “birds of a species in danger of extinction”, i.e. birds and eggs of a species or sub-species specified in Schedule 2. Permits of the executive member are required for the capture, sale or purchase of migratory or endangered birds. The executive member may, by Notice published in the Gazette, declare an open season in relation to migratory birds of a species or sub-species specified in the Notice. The Act grants regulation-making powers to the Administrator.
