Abstract

This Act concerns water supply and sewerage of the city of Brisbane and its suburbs. It consists of 12 Parts divided into 157 sections. Part 2 concerns the administration of the Act, it establishes the Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board and spells out its functions and powers. Part 3 deals with the construction and maintenance of works, and Parts 4 and 5 are dedicated to water supply and to sewerage and drainage. Part 6 concerns the Water and Sewerage Fund and Part 7 deals with loans. Part 8 covers water and sewerage rates and Part 9 accounting and auditing. Part 10 deals with offences and Parts 11 and 12 contains miscellaneous and transitional provisions, among others on liability, inspections and dispute resolution.
