The Scheme shall illustrate drainage catchments; lakes, swamps, wetlands, watercourses and other features related to natural drainage; areas of existing, proposed or potential development; the existing drainage system; the proposed drainage system; land which, in the opinion of the Minister benefits from drainage and contributes to the need for drainage. Moreover the Arterial Drainage Scheme shall make provision for the classification of drainage assets as arterial drains and drainage courses, and may make provision for utilising the potential of the Scheme to conserve water, to re-charge aquifers, or in any other manner, in the best interests of the community and for the management of the natural environment.
