Abstract

These Methodical Recommendations for combating weed cow parsnip (Heracleum) establishes that obligatory stage planning of protective measures related on significant area shall be monitoring of contaminated sites, with the subsequent drawing up of a map-scheme of contamination. In order to reach this objective, shall be applicable route accounting method with the appropriate scale. Mapping will allow to choose the optimal combination of methods, taking into account the previously indicated criteria. Destruction of weed cow parsnip (Heracleum) by any of the methods, requires monitoring of the results obtained and performance of repeated protective activities. The period during which regular monitoring is required the territory free of weed cow parsnip (Heracleum) - five years. In case of massive use of herbicides for the destruction of weed cow parsnip (Heracleum) precautions should be taken to prevent spreading of solution on areas adjacent to the plant community nearby to areas covered with weeds. Herbicides must be used with extreme caution on territories of inhabited areas. Mowing is mandatory for areas where for some reasons chemical treatment of weed cow parsnip (Heracleum) was not carried out on time. This method will prevent flowering and seed ripening.
