Abstract Viral infections of fishes are characterized by nidi. The main way of spreading of viruses at present originates from transportation of spawn and fishes from places situated in epizootically unfavourable areas (nidi of infection). Divisions of state veterinary service must be immediately informed of the exposure of viral infections of fishes. The document consists of 8 Secs. Section 1 lays down general provisions. Section 2 regards selection of samples for research. Section 3 regards taking and transportation of material. Section 4 selection of samples and their processing. Section 5 regards cultivation of permanent lines of fish cells and inoculation of culture. Section 6 regards identification of virus through reaction of the neutralization by specific antibodies.
