Abstract

This Act establishes the Meru County Investment and Development Corporation and provides with respect to its administration, functions, powers and organization. The Act provides a legal and institutional framework for county investment and development and in particular, among other things, seeks to promote local investment and economic development through sound investment by the County government and to enable the county government to undertake public private partnerships and joint ventures in areas that are beneficial to the county. The Corporation shall undertaking investments on behalf of the county government and develop a prepare a five-year corporate investment strategy and plan.
