The Nairobi International Convention on the Removal of Wrecks 2007 is added to the list of those Conventions. The Act also amends section 48, which empowers the Cabinet to make Regulations for the purposes of the implementation of any or all of the Conventions referred to in section 47 of the Act. Regulations made under section 48 may, to the extent required by the convention to which the Regulations relate, prescribe offences and penalties (other than imprisonment) in respect of the contravention of, or non-compliance with, the Regulations.
