Abstract

These provisions lay down some amendments to regulations from 2 to 9 and regulation 12 of the Merchant Shipping (Prevention of Pollution from Ships) Regulations. The amendments concern functions of the Registrar General in this field; duty of owners and masters of ships to ensure compliance with the provisions of these Regulations and the applicable requirements of the MARPOL Convention; and the prohibition of proceeding to sea without an appropriate certificate.
