Abstract

These Regulations, made by the Minister responsible for Maritime Administration, in exercise of the power conferred by section 122 of the Merchant Shipping Act 2002, implement for Bermuda the International Convention on the control of Harmful Anti-Fouling Systems on Ships, 2001, and provide for survey and certification of ships for purposes of the Convention (Annex 4). Ships that are not conform certification may be detained until a surveyor of ships is satisfied that it can proceed to sea without presenting an unreasonable threat of harm to the marine environment.
