They require owners of ships to carry out the risk assessment as defined by regulation 7 of the Merchant Shipping and Fishing Vessels (Health and Safety at Work) Regulations 2004 and to reduce the exposure of asbestos on Bermuda ships where workers are employed to work. The Regulations also provide with respect to demolition of ships, hygiene and individual protection, health records and medical surveillance, consultation with and participation of workers, and inspection and enforcement, and define offences.
